What is a sliding wardrobe system?
A sliding wardrobe system is the set of rails, carriages, dampers and door profiles that lets wardrobe doors glide along a track instead of swinging open. A good system carries the door weight, closes quietly and stays aligned for years. Mirano supplies two systems from System Holz (Gruppo Pozzi), Italy.

Bridge 500 & 600
A sliding door system for glass, wood and glass-and-wood doors. Bridge 500 builds aluminium-framed doors with four handle profiles and a corner version. Bridge 600 carries wood panels with or without an aluminium handle profile.

Evolution
An adjustable sliding system for two and three overlapping doors. Carriages with automatic locking, an upper anti-derailment device and adjustment for door height and perpendicularity make it a robust choice for tall, heavy slab doors.

How to choose a sliding wardrobe system
Start with the door
Framed glass or glass-and-wood doors point to Bridge 500. Wood panels with a slim aluminium handle point to Bridge 600. Overlapping slab doors point to Evolution.
Check the weight
Bridge carries 60 kg per door and Evolution 80 kg. Thick wood, mirrors and tall glass doors add weight quickly.
Match the panel thickness
Bridge 500 takes glass of 4 to 8 mm and wood of 8 to 10 mm, Bridge 600 takes wood up to 22 mm, and Evolution takes 22 to 50 mm.
Decide how doors stop
Both systems offer soft-close dampers or simple stoppers. Soft closing is the usual choice for premium bedroom and dressing-room wardrobes.
Think about corners
Glass corner wardrobes need Bridge 500 with its corner profile. Straight runs work with any of the systems.
Plan the fitting

What is inside a sliding system
Rails
The upper rail carries the door and the lower rail guides it. Rails come as 1-way or 2-way profiles, and some lower rails are built into the base panel.
Carriages and rollers
Carriages and rollers carry the door weight. They are adjustable so the door can be levelled after hanging.
Dampers and stoppers
A soft-close damper slows the door at the end of its travel and pulls it shut. A stopper simply ends the travel.
Handle and door profiles
On framed doors, vertical aluminium profiles form the door edge and carry the handle, with crosspieces and gaskets around the panel.
Safety devices
Anti-derailment devices keep the door on its rail, and anti-release devices stop a door being lifted off accidentally.
Fixing kits
Screws, brackets and supports fix the rails and dampers. Quick-fix rails speed up fitting.

Can sliding wardrobe doors be soft closing?
Yes. Both systems can close softly on dampers: Bridge uses a damper kit with a 50 mm stroke rated for 60 kg, and Evolution offers upper dampers with 50 mm or 70 mm strokes and a lower damper, with a central damper for three-door wardrobes. Standard stoppers are available on both.
Which system suits glass doors?
Bridge 500. It takes 4, 6 or 8 mm glass and glass-and-wood combinations in an aluminium frame, and it has a corner door version for glass corner wardrobes.
Which system suits thick or heavy wooden doors?
Evolution takes door thicknesses up to 50 mm and loads up to 80 kg per door. Bridge 600 takes wood panels up to 22 mm.
